After School

Kids Klub’s School-Age Program is more than just a place for your child to hang out while waiting to be taken to school—or picked up after a long day at school. What sets us apart is: our dynamic, well-rounded programming; our loving staff that gets to know each child for who they are; and a top-notch homework room where your child will actually learn, complete their work correctly, and acquire valuable study skills.

Homework Time

At Kids Klub, homework time is about more than completing assignments. Our program is designed to help children build strong study habits, confidence, and independence so they feel capable and prepared when approaching their schoolwork.

Homework Expectations

Homework time takes place Monday through Thursday, with all children spending a minimum of 30 minutes engaged in academic work. Children may remain in the homework room until 6:00 PM if needed, and they may not leave until their homework or assigned academic work has been completed and reviewed by staff. If a child does not have homework on a given day, alternative academic activities such as worksheets, writing prompts, or reading assignments are provided based on individual needs. Older students, typically third grade and up, often have reading or studying requirements that take priority during this time.

A Calm, Focused Environment

Children complete their homework in a quiet, library-like setting that encourages concentration and productivity. Staff members are present to guide and support students while encouraging them to think critically and problem-solve on their own rather than immediately giving answers.

The Homework Star Program

To maintain a calm and respectful homework room, Kids Klub uses ten core homework room rules. When children follow these rules, they earn stars through our Homework Star Program. Stars are not earned for completing homework, but for demonstrating positive study behaviors such as focus, organization, and respect for the learning environment. At the end of each month, children may use their stars to purchase prizes, with larger prizes available for those who choose to save their stars over time.

Staff Support & Daily Process

At the start of homework time, staff members review homework room procedures with the group and then check in with each child individually. Agendas are reviewed daily, and children are supported in updating or creating one if needed. Staff also provide guidance on organization, study techniques, and time management to help children succeed independently.

Transportation

Kids Klub provides transportation for children enrolled in our before and after school program from a wide range of local elementary schools. Transportation is included in the before and after school rates, offering families a convenient and reliable option.

Depending on the location, our fleet includes full-size and mid-size school buses, youth buses, passenger sprinter vans, and minivans. All vehicles are fully air-conditioned and equipped with seat belts, booster or car seats when needed, and sound systems to ensure a comfortable ride for every child.

Safety is our top priority. All drivers hold the proper licenses and certifications required to operate their assigned vehicles. School bus and youth bus drivers complete a rigorous training program of more than 20 hours, in addition to written and behind-the-wheel testing conducted by the Department of Motor Vehicles and/or the State Highway Patrol. Drivers are trained to follow strict safety procedures while creating a safe, positive, and welcoming environment for passengers.

Each vehicle is equipped with a cellular phone for emergencies and is inspected daily by its driver. Vehicles also undergo routine inspections by a certified mechanic and receive an annual inspection by a State-Appointed Motor Carrier Specialist to ensure the highest safety standards.

Drop Off Days

There are many days throughout the year when your child has the day off from school due to holidays, in-service days, pupil-free days, etc. Many times, as parents, you still have work on these days and childcare is much needed. Kids Klub remains committed to meeting the various scheduling demands of school-age children and their families. We provide full day care and exciting activities, for children enrolled in our before or after school program. Our evening & weekend school-age hourly rate applies up until the time that the child is regularly scheduled to attend.

Mandarin Program

Kids Klub’s Mandarin Immersion Program offers children a rich, engaging language experience designed to build real-world communication skills and cultural awareness. Led by a dedicated Mandarin teacher who speaks Mandarin the majority of the time, children are immersed in the language in a natural and supportive way, helping them develop confidence, comprehension, and accurate pronunciation.

Each session includes structured lessons that blend conversation practice, reading and writing, and cultural exploration. Children are introduced to Mandarin vocabulary and sentence patterns through guided dialogue, hands-on activities, songs, games, and storytelling. Cultural lessons allow children to learn about traditions, holidays, and customs, creating a deeper connection to the language.

Students receive Mandarin workbooks to reinforce learning through writing practice and skill-building activities. Lessons are age-appropriate and designed to meet children where they are, whether they are brand new to Mandarin or continuing their language journey.

Our immersion-style approach supports cognitive development, strengthens memory and problem-solving skills, and encourages children to think and communicate in a second language. The Mandarin Immersion Program is an enriching extension of the school day and provides a strong foundation for future language learning—no prior Mandarin experience required.
