Where Stories Come Alive

Campers explore the full world of storytelling, creating memorable characters, plots, and settings. They dive into fantasy worlds and epic adventures, solve mysteries with suspenseful twists, and reimagine myths, legends, and fairy tales from cultures around the globe. Throughout the program, they practice worldbuilding, sequencing, mood, dialogue, and creative expression, bringing their ideas to life through illustration, comics, short stories, and fully finished books. By the end of camp, each camper has a collection of original, imaginative, and polished projects that showcase their storytelling skills, creativity, and personal voice.

Campers explore what makes books memorable by learning about characters, setting, plot, and clear beginnings, middles, and endings. Through reading examples and guided discussion, campers discover why some stories become favorites. Campers write and illustrate their own short book while practicing brainstorming, drafting, revising, and sharing ideas.

Worldbuilding & Adventures

Campers create rich worlds filled with magic, heroes, and epic adventures while learning how strong settings, clear rules, and exciting quests shape engaging stories. Through guided writing and illustration, they develop imaginative characters, conflicts, and journeys that pull readers into their worlds.

Comics & Illustrated Storytelling

This week focuses on how stories can be told through both words and images. Campers learn how panels, speech bubbles, sequencing, and visual expression help move a story forward. Campers write and illustrate their own comic or illustrated story, experimenting with layout, pacing, and character expression.

Mystery & Suspense

Campers dive into the world of mystery and suspense, learning how to craft clever plots, plant clues, and build tension that keeps readers guessing. They explore mood, sensory details, and atmosphere to create stories full of suspense, twists, and memorable surprises

Campers explore myths, legends, and fairy tales from around the world, including Greek mythology, the Brothers Grimm, and other classic stories. They learn how to retell and reinvent these tales, creating new characters, settings, and twists while keeping the magic and lessons of the originals alive.
