A Typical Day
While regular camp activities don’t begin until 9:00 AM, campers can be dropped off as early as 7:30 AM and receive breakfast from 8:00 - 8:30 AM at no extra charge. During this time we also have a craft and sport activity set up so that we can start the fun early!
Morning group time is the most important time of any day. During group time we play team building games to help create the strong group dynamics that are the foundation of every successful week at Camp Kids Klub. In the first hour of camp we make sure that campers know everyone in their group and begin to build new friendships and strengthen old ones! After group time the whole camp meets for Opening Circle. We sing our favorite songs and host games and challenges where campers can win special prizes each morning. On Mondays at Opening Circle we introduce our Weekly Theme, the Camp Kids Klub Spirit Stick Competition and the Hoozit!
If your group is going on a field trip today, you’ll depart for the exciting destination that awaits you.
Each group participates in the incredible activities their Unit Heads have planned for them. Our activities always correspond to the Weekly Theme and are guaranteed to be a blast! We do everything under the sun: sports, art, cooking, science, engineering, drama, scavenger hunts and competitions, wacky challenges, and much more!
Over the course of the week each age group will have a chance to have a wild water play party, including use of our 18 foot water slide and slip-n-slide inflatable!
We take a break from the action to have a yummy, nutritious meal prepared by our chefs or your own home lunch. This is a great opportunity to kick-back, re-charge, and hang out with some of your best friends!
The fun starts up again with more special activities prepared by the counselors. We may be putting on costumes for an improv session, building duct tape boats and learning about buoyancy, or having a good ol’ fashioned water balloon fight. Often in the late afternoons we’ll discuss nutrition as we prepare a fresh fruit smoothie to help us cool off. For Teens and Mountaineers, once a week in the afternoon we take a trip to the pool!
We all meet again in the afternoon for a Closing Circle with more songs, games, and prizes. On Mondays we’ll judge the Spirit Stick Competition, with each group performing their own cheer for the camp and the lucky winners receiving the Spirit Stick and the yummy treat inside it. We also deliver the “Squasher”, a shaving cream pie to the face, to the lucky counselor who has the Hoozit at the end of the day! On Friday afternoons we do our awards ceremonies, and of course, we close out every day with Otter Pops!
Our field trips typically arrive back on campus before 4:30 PM. We do have select field trips that return later however. Refer to the weekly schedule to determine specific return times. All field trips that return later than 6:00 PM go straight to our Kids Klub Pasadena location for pick-up.
Our drive-thru pick-up car line opens at 4:30 PM. We have games and activities until 6:00 PM, when all remaining campers are transported on our Kids Klub shuttle to our Pasadena location for pick-up or stay for our fun Evening/Weekend program.
